Easy Ways to Monetize Your YouTube Videos in 2024
In this article, I'm going to show you step-by-step how to monetize your YouTube videos. First, let's make sure we meet the requirements for monetization. We'll start by checking your channel's stats. Go to your YouTube channel, click your profile picture, and then select "Manage Videos." From there, head to your analytics and select the last 365 days. You need 4,000 hours of watch time and 1,000 subscribers to qualify for the YouTube Partner Program. If your channel meets these requirements, you're ready to proceed.
Next, go to the Creator Studio and click the "Earn" button. You'll see an "Apply" button if you're eligible. Click it, review the terms, and then sign up for Google AdSense if you haven't already. AdSense is how you'll get paid when your channel starts earning money. Once everything is set up, YouTube will review your channel, and you should hear back within a few days.
Once accepted, it's time to enable ads on your videos. You can do this in bulk by selecting all your videos and turning on monetization. For videos longer than 8 minutes, consider adding mid-roll ads every couple of minutes to maximize your earnings. To streamline future uploads, go to your upload defaults in the settings and ensure all ad types are enabled.
Remember, there's a $100 threshold before you get paid from AdSense. But once you hit that, you'll start receiving monthly payments. Curious about how much money you can make from YouTube? Check out my next article, where I break down how much you can earn from 1,000 views. See you there!
